Residence Permit Lawyer in Antalya

Residence and work permit applications, refusals, deportation orders and entry bans.

A residence permit lawyer in Antalya can help you apply for the right permit, renew it on time, and challenge a refusal, cancellation, deportation order or entry ban. We work in English, German, Russian, Arabic and Turkish, so you can follow every step of your file.

Most foreigners in Antalya hold a short-term or family residence permit, and many apply without a lawyer. The trouble usually starts when an application is refused, a permit is cancelled, or a deportation decision is served. Time limits in these cases are short, so early advice matters.

How we can help

  • First applications and renewals for short-term, family, student and long-term residence permits
  • Choosing the correct permit type and preparing a complete file
  • Work permit applications for employees, company managers and independent workers
  • Objections to refused, unrenewed or cancelled residence permits
  • Annulment actions before the administrative court
  • Appeals against deportation orders and objections to administrative detention
  • Applications to lift or shorten entry bans and restriction codes
  • Representation before the Antalya Provincial Directorate of Migration Management

The main permit types under Turkish law

Residence permits are governed by the Law No. 6458 on Foreigners and International Protection. Work permits are governed separately by the International Labour Force Law No. 6735, and a valid work permit is also accepted as a residence permit.

The conditions change from time to time, and some neighbourhoods in Antalya have been closed to new residence registrations for foreigners. This can affect where you register your address, so check before you sign a lease or buy a home. If you are buying property, see our real estate page.

How the process works

  1. We review your situation and decide with you which permit type fits your purpose of stay.
  2. We prepare the document list: passport, photos, address registration, health insurance, proof of means and any type-specific documents.
  3. The application is filed online and an appointment is booked at the Antalya Provincial Directorate of Migration Management.
  4. We prepare you for the appointment or attend with you where possible.
  5. We follow the file until the permit card arrives, and diarise your renewal date.
  6. If the decision is negative, we assess the grounds and file an objection or lawsuit within the time limit.

Refusals, cancellations and deportation

A refusal or cancellation is an administrative decision. You can object to the administration, and you can file an annulment action before the administrative court. Under the Administrative Procedure Law No. 2577, the general time limit for an annulment action is 60 days from notification, but you should not wait until the end of that period.

Deportation orders have their own, much shorter appeal period under Law No. 6458, counted in days rather than weeks. If you have been served with a deportation decision, or taken to a removal centre, contact us the same day. Our immigration page explains administrative detention and protection-related cases in more detail.

Entry bans and restriction codes are often discovered only at the airport or when a new visa is refused. In many cases we can ask the administration to lift or shorten the ban, or challenge it in court.

Frequently asked questions

When should I apply to renew my residence permit?

Renewal applications should be filed in the period before your current permit expires, and in any case before it expires. Starting about two months in advance gives time to fix missing documents.

My application was refused. Can I stay in Turkey?

A refusal usually comes with a period in which you must leave or regularise your stay. You can object and file a lawsuit, but this does not always allow you to stay. Get advice quickly so you do not overstay.

What happens if I overstay my visa or permit?

Overstaying can lead to a fine on exit and, depending on the length, an entry ban. In some cases the ban can be avoided or reduced, so speak to us before you leave the country.

Can you handle my application while I am outside Turkey?

Some steps can be done for you under a power of attorney, but applications that require your biometric data or presence must be made in Turkey. We will tell you which steps need you in person.

How are your fees set?

Fees are agreed in writing before work starts and cannot be below the Union of Turkish Bar Associations' minimum fee tariff. Contact us with your permit details.
